Chemical Biology of Metabolism
Chemical Biology of Metabolism
We are interested in applying the principles of chemical biology to the emergent field of cancer metabolism, particularly in the development of small molecule inhibitors of metabolic enzymes and in developing novel metabolomics tools. We use protein chemistry, enzymology, structural biology, and liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry to pursue these research goals.
We are interested in:
Discovering metabolic adaptations enabling tumor cell survival in unusual metabolic environments, particularly the brain
Finding small molecule inhibitors that target these metabolic dependencies
Developing new metabolomics tools to discover new biological processes, especially those involving biologically relevant gases
